Ok I am a black female. I have natural (not strightend hair) and Iove it my immediate family all has natural hair because we agree that its better to have hair that your DNA and history gave you then give your self cancer to look like something else. It is down to my bra strap and hangs in deep wavy coils when i wt it or its motorized right. So why do other African Americans persecute me with horrible nicknames because or this?? I mean my own race here!!I If any thing I would be expecting it from other races but my own ppl!!

Most of American culture worships a beauty ideal that is unrealistic. They spend millions of dollars on diets, hair products, plastic surgery and cosmetics trying to look like models in a magazine, even though the models themselves admit that the photographer uses an airbrush to correct the models' flaws before the picture is published.
Trying to achieve a fantasy goal leaves people frustrated and without self-esteem. They don't understand that happiness comes from being happy with who you are, not what you look like when you copy someone else.
That you are comfortable with who you are threatens the people who aren't. Their nasty comments about you are really about what they think of themselves.

Um I don't know what to tell you about your hair other than I think these chicks are probably jealous because yours is natural and theirs is fake. But I think if yahoo answers does not kick these racist people off here than you should cook up a serious law suit against them!!!!!!!

Well its known that a lot of blacks are racist towards others. Just ignore it let them hate on your hair. I mean really how many black women do you see with NATURAL hair down their back that isnt hair extensions?

i think your hair sounds really pretty. mines just frizzy. and i dont think how ur hair is styled should matter. some afracan american people have long hair, some have short hair, osme have straight hair, some have corn rows, some have natural hair!

my hair is natrual too and i love love it i would hate to chemically change my hair so it can be more like the people who enslved blcks all those years ago but hey thats just me

I don't know why this would happen...I'm a white Aussie, and don't know what the problem would be. But I have to tell you, I would almost kill for hair like that. Don't worry about what others say...if you like it, then hey, that's what matters

People can be intolerant and mean about just about anything. Perhaps they're jealous.
It's hard to say really what motivates people to be unkind. Be yourself, please yourself. Those who appreciate you will not care, and those who belittle you will eventually go away when they see they have no effect.
