I know an obvious alternative is Elijah, but we aren't hot on it.

The little boy I know named Josiah goes by Sy.

A similiar name that I like is Silas. Same nickname and very cute.

You could go with Jeremiah, Zachariah,

Jonah isn't "iah" but still similiar as well as Noah.

Good Luck. SD

Josiah is such a beautiful name, me personally, I wouldn't shorten it.
As for the names that ends in "iah", there's Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Obidiah, Zephaniah, and Zechariah - all of which comes from the Bible.

If you like Biblical names, why not Zerubbabel. He was a prince of Judah who led the return of the Israelites from the Babylonian captivity.

Josiah is nice. I don't think it needs a nickname, but maybe Sy/Sye.

Other ideas:
Isaiah
Asa
Ezra
Noah
Jonah
Zachariah
Jeremiah
Micah
Malachi
Luca
Matthias
Noah
Nehemiah (Pronounce Nee-uh-my-uh)
Silas

A name that comes to mind is Jeremiah, which is a great name with a great meaning: "God will uplift." And it's not too common.
