He is not very smart.

First he tried to over throw the democratically elected government of Venezuela as an Army colonel, without the support of the Army back in 1992.

Then in 2002, he was almost overthrown in a coup, even after being warned by the United States that a coup was being planned and whop was planning it.

Not to mention, that Venezeulas oil industry is failing, exports are down 40%.

Foreign investment in Venezeula has stopped.

When the money for oil dries up, the people of venezeula will hang him.

Im from Venezuelan descent and he's embarrasing, he's expresses himself like people do when they go on Jerry Springer.
A sort of Latin American mix of ghettoise and trailer park. An utter buffoon.

And he cheated on the last elections, there's a big investigation about the rigging of the voting machines, the reason he's shutting the tv stations (now RCTV, next is Globovision ) is because he doesnt want that and his other wheelings and dealings to come out in the limelight, and expose him for the Corrupt, cruel, ignorant commie he really is.

Even Lula da Silva (Brazil's president) and Evo Morales (Bolivia's president) the biggest leftist in Latin America criticize him, little by little he's choking himself with his own rope. And that day wont come too soon.

Another megalomaniac, socialist tyrant. Unfortunately the old adage is still true. The tree of liberty must be watered occasionally with the blood of patriots and tyrants. I am sure his rise to power will result in much bloodshed among his countrymen.

Despite drawing the wrath of the Bush administration for his courageous defiance of their insidious agenda, Chavez remains faithful to his causes. In his weekly addresses to his constituents called "Hello, Mr. President", he continues to express his views opposing the American government quite candidly:

[US government advisers and planners are] "not only planning the death of the world, but are executing it. They are killing the world, our world, and our grandchildren's world.....(in reference to US imperialistic and environmentally damaging policies)

"....because we have generals, commanders and soldiers who are patriots, and who will not bend their knees before the US empire; they know that there are people with a conscience who they will not be able too confuse through the media they control."

"Look at the example of Iraq; there was a campaign against Saddam Hussein, accusing him of having chemical weapons, accusing him of being a menace, by presenting evidence that resulted to be false, to justify the aggression."

...."poisoned medicine..." and "That is what is killing the peoples of Latin America ....This is the path of destabilization, of violence, of war between brothers." (Chavez's condemnation of Bush's capitalist free-trade policies).

I think he's a totalitarian maniac who tries to win friends through our communal love of the elderly.

He's making a fool out of himself, just like the president of Iran; any publicity is good publicity, in their little minds.

He is a communist dictator. If we hurt his feelings he can call Danny Glover or Cindy Sheehan for consolation.
