Well the gasses that trap heat inside the Earth's atmosphere are CO2 and methane. Now excess heat was normally let off into space but now that there is more Carbon Dioxide in the air the heat stay on the surface. This is a problem. What might b a 1 degree difference in temperature in California may be 12 degrees in the arctic regions. Less CO2 means more cooling. Oh and CO2 comes from cars and stuff.

Despite what people tell you there is no proof that CO2 is the cause of global warming. Many people will not believe me when I say this. The fact is, most people only get their information form the media and don't have a scientific background so they cannot except a differing statement and will ridicule it (fear brings prejudice). The evidence that I have seen demonstrates that climate change is causing a rise in CO2 and not that CO2 is causing a rise in temperatures. And the most important green house gas is water vapour (clouds). Think about it. Why is it always warmer on a cloudy night? Its not because of CO2. Its due to the amount of cloud cover. Also why are all the picture of melting glaciers taken during summer? Because that's when they are retreating. If you took pictures of Antarctic glaciers during winter you would see that they are advancing.
Bruce S is also wrong, the Amazon is not the largest producer of oxygen, the ocean is (algae\plankton). Yet more miss-information

Global warming is happening for two reasons One, with the the increased # of cars and industry there is an increased amount of carbon in the atmosphere. Two. As our the worlds nations become more and more industrialized, the cities start expanding and start consuming the forests.
The Amazon has been on a steady decline in size and it is our largest oxygen producer.

global warming, is theearth heating up:P
well actually , the shift in our climate is global warming, the shift in the seasons time limits, and restraints, Longer summers, shorter winter, more rain in spring, and fall arriving later. Global warming is affecting the polar ice caps, which is making the earth's water supply rise, which could possibly make land masses which are at sea level to sink!

global warming is caused from green house gasses they get there name from the greenhouse effect witch is named from a green house it traps in heat and makes everyhting hot:P eventually when all teh fossilfules are used up and the average heat will be about 100 degreese the polar icecaps will melt flooding the world doomin us all inles we build an ark:P LOL!!!!!!!!! sry
