Ever time I have to fill out a form it asks for your race and the boxes are WHITE/CAUCASIAN, BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN, ASIAN/PACIFIC ISLANDER, LATINO, MIDDLE EASTERN, NATIVE AMERICAN. I've never seen a box that says :FILL IN YOURSELF". I mean is it that hard to let us mixed people be reconized. I've never even seen a TV show that had a mixed family. They barley have commercials with mixed children and their parents. It makes me sick! And for all of you out there who aren't from two totally different cultures count yourself lucky! I mean I would never want to change who I am but it's hard, exspecially when people stare at you and your parents and try to figure out how you look like them.

Society tries to fit people in a box thats the problem. You are blessed to be mixed, I heard that some people when they are supposed to put down their race they put down human. I say who cares about race.

I'm half black and half white too but I'm living in Montreal, Canada. I don't suffer from my color. Hey, you should move here!!

Someone said to me one day that if we forget our history we are condemned to live it again.

I don't think that society is trying to hide the fact that there are mixed people in the world. It is all because IT IS NEW to this world!

Look at our history, it is very new for human beings to mix up. We used not to travel a few years ago! There were no planes, no cars, no tv, no internet. We live in a new world with high communication technology. Our generation is living something that no others lived before. Mixed people are new on this planet and we are the ones who are going to change things because we cannot be racist, we come from different cultures. That is fantastic! That is a real gift!

I'm half black and half white and i live in France.Interracial relationships are not as taboo in here as they can be in the US and asking race on a form is forbidden. That makes things easier. But I also have the feeling that we are not visible.Things will change, we are the race of the future after all.

I agree with you. I got a friend who is Jamaican, New Guinean, British and Indian and perhaps Chinese, she writes down that she is half black and half white, because there is no space and her dad for some reason doesn't like her writing what she is. I find it sad that people do not show mixed kids but the family of four white family. No offense but isn't it about time that society should change and keep up with the people from 2007?

I've asked other people the same question myself...I find it kind of odd, especially considering most people are bound to be mixed to some degree at this point.

I have 2 bi-racial children and on those forms when I am filling them out I check white and black. Your right about Television but there are more TV shows than there used to be. As for the people who stare smile and keep walking, Its really not any of their business. There parents should have taught them better manners, its not polite to stare.

Everyone is mixed. No one is pure European, or African, or Asian or anything else. Your race is determined by what you look like, meaning you would have a majority of that gene.

There are a lot of things that make me sick too but not this one. I would just fill in the WHITE/CAUCASIAN box.. I suggest you go and "let it out" in Religion & Spirituality, always takes your mind off of it.

Your situation is why I'm so against interracial relationships because the kids will have this problem amongst others.
