I need advice about updrading my Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 please?

I currently have a Dell XPS 410 Core 2 Duo E6420 processor that has 2.13 GHZ and I just upgraded the RAM from 2-4GHZ and the operating system is running Vista home premium.
In July 07 Intel is releasing new chips and they are offering a Core 2 Duo E6850 which is rated at 3.0 GHZ for about $270.00 Will I gain much speed from this upgrade and will it be noticable? Also is changing out the CPU as easy as adding RAM and will my current mother board except this new chip as well? Thank you so much for your time and expert guidance with my questions.

It will be a huge increase in speed, but only, if only your Dell BIOS can accept the new CPU
