I had my last injection a month ago and am not getting another (the stuff is poison!) has anyone had symptoms from quitting? Able to lose any weight gained? Skin cleared up? and if so, how long after your last injection were you able to see a difference. Thanks.

Congrats on getting off of Depo! I was on it for four years (hell!).

I am SLOWLY losing the weight I had gained on depo. Work out and eat healthy. Its a hard road.

I had my last injection over a year ago. I got on Kariva (pill) right after to get my periods back and regulate them since I heard horrors about people trying to conceive after depo.

No more horrible mood swings, spotting at odd times, weight gain. YAY

The weight you gained was from eating so unless you eat less you won't lose but maybe 2-3 lbs. You skin should have been clearer w/ the shot so it will probably no get any better in fact for a while it will probably get worse from the hormone fluctuations that will now take place. If you are not starting pills or anything then you can expect your period, followed by off and on spotting/periods for at least 2-3 months. Your body has to totally reset.

Your research is unfortunately incorrect. A number of doctors in a number of different states have informed many woman including myself that they do in fact effect your birth control (some antibiotics and even antacids say it on the package/bottle and in their side effects of this fact) and with certain ones they make birth control not work at all no matter how long or correctly you have used birth control and doctors strongly suggest using a backup method like condoms to prevent pregnancy. Also a large number of pregnancies including mine that prove that antibiotics effect birth control and make it less effective or not work at all when on or just stopping antibiotics. *Edit to original poster* He bought you plan b so he does care about you and the possibility of getting you pregnant. He also apologized and was willing to get tested (though he should have done that first before having sex not very smart on his part but that doesn't mean he doesn't care). He was very irresponsible yes but that doesn't mean he didn't care and by what he did afterwards shows that he in fact does care and wants to make things work and worries about himself and you. Also you should have been more concerned about your health and not had sex without a condom if you knew beforehand that he didn't get tested, was bad on your part to choose to have sex anyway. If you know he had numerous sex or sex partners before you and you may have as well or suspect you have some other type of infection do the responsible and healthy thing and wait to have sex till after he and you are both tested giving in to pressure or just to please someone else was and is just as irresponsible.
