Yes. It was staged on the surface of the moon.
Egads. How many times per day does some doofus post this same stupid question? Next you'll be asking if the world is really flat.

No: While the conspiracy theorists have a 5 second argument that makes you think, the answer is always 5 minutes long and makes complete sense. Many of the things that the conspiracy theorists mention are things that dont make sense, and therefore it must have been staged. However, since space and the moon are completely different environments than anything non-astronauts are use to, once you hear the explanation, it makes perfect sense.
Example: The flag waving on the moon... if there is no atmostphere, what is causing the flag to wave? Conspiracy argument - it was the air conditioner on the soundstage blowing the flag. NASA's answer - the moon has no atmostphere to absorb vibrations, so the motion of sticking the flagpole in the ground caused the flag to ripple for a long time before the ground completely absorbed the vibrations through the flagpole.
My personal answer that proves once and for all that we went. The Soviet Union: our Cold War enemy must have had every telescope and sattelitte watching the Apollo programs, for technical info and for spying. If we had faked it, they WOULD have known, and then embarrassed the US on the front page of every newspaper in the world. They saw that we went and therefore had nothing to report.

Part of me wants the moon landing to be real, but there is so much evidence that it was really staged. For example there is a belt of radiation about 500 miles outside of the earth's atmosphere. This belt would make it impossible for the astronauts to survive. Also during the time of the moon landing there was a storm on the sun that raised the radiation 100x. In some video's and photographs the shadow's of the rocks crossing each other. And there is a law that states that this should never happen. It is said that the moon landing was filmed in area 51. The surface of area 51 is actually much like the surface of the moon. <-----all this stuff is true we watched a video on it in science class =P

zahbudar, you made me think of something else that relates a bit to this. Whenever something spectacular happens or a tale that is so outrageous it can't be true, but is people doubt it. yes we went to the moon.
Now for the part that you made me think of, Yellowstone. Back in the 1800s stories circulated about of an area where the lakes boiled and water shot out hundreds of feet in the air by these boiling springs. To many such stories sounded like fantasy, yet were actually true, they were hot springs and geysers, some of which can reach over 300 ft. Its a wonderful area that many though was naturally impossible.
Many now think its impossible to go to the moon, but we did.
*edit*
Brian, you're thinking of the van Allen belt, and even the man who found it states that its possible for man to travel though safely. Just ask yourself this question, wouldn't the USSR have exposed such a hoax to discredit the USA during the Cold War? The reason they didn't was because it happened.

Idiots will say most anything to deny what is believed by the normal majority and what is known to be true. There are some who say the Holocaust never happened, and the thing you're asking about the moon landing. The landing was true. I persoally worked with people (engineers) who were part of the program.
Others will ask questions like that because they have political or religious beliefs that differ from the prevailing majority.

There must be thousands of fools who now think the Moon landings were a hoax.
The Russians were in that race with us, dupe. What did they say when the US landed on the Moon not once, but six times, hmmmm? Nothing. They acknowledged our success, and they would have had the most to gain by denying and proving the US staged it.
This is getting old fast. Too many fools out there, buying this tripe.

Whenever a few people do something outstanding the doubters and naysayers come out of the cracks and crevices to cast their doubts on the fantastic achievements of those few. Do not get swept up in their false tales and supositions.
Men landed on the Moon. They were Americans, and we, the American people, are darn proud of those courageous guys.
How many people do you know who would climb into a tin can on top of a rocket ship knowing that at any second you could be blown to bits or have all the air sucked out of your space suit and be unable to breathe. Imagine being on the surface of the moon with only so much air left and not being able to launch off of the surface of the Moon... What guts that must have taken.

except you have been there and witnessed adequate of the technique to experience specific it became actual, you may no longer somewhat thoroughly have self belief something the media assist you be attentive to. yet refusing to have self belief it did take place isn't comparable to believing that it did no longer take place. the best you're able to do is to anticipate it got here approximately. you will by no ability be waiting to locate conclusive data one way or yet another. yet your existence probable does not rely on having the main appropriate answer, so which you merely settle for an assumption based upon a reasonable statistical diagnosis and pass on. What does a commonsense statistical diagnosis let us know? If it have been faked, then thousands - probable thousands - of people would have had to be in on the conspiracy. human beings are notoriously undesirable at conserving secrets and methods, and a style of people would have spilled the beans via now. And in case you nitpick via each and all of the media comments, you may continuously locate discrepancies. this would properly be a fave gadget of deniers of any commonly believed declare. as quickly as you hit upon one element that seems to be questionable, then you certainly cite that as data that the finished argument is fake. save an open strategies. there continues to be a non-0 probability that somebody will produce the smoking gun. yet till that happens, i visit artwork with the thought astronauts somewhat did walk on the moon.

It was quite real. The prismatic reflectors left on the moon by the astronauts are used to this day to measure the distance to the moon, which is increasing at about one inch a year due to tidal friction in the earth's ocean.
