I don't know about poor people in Africa or whatever; they might really be getting poorer. But in the US, the poor are not really get poorer. They're just getting richer at a slower rate than the rich are, and there's nothing wrong with that.

The rich are getting much richer and the poor are getting the shaft. We now have more billionaires in the united states than we had just 5 years ago and the poor man is paying the same price to live as the money men are. I know people who have had to quit thier jobs because, THEY COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY GAS TO GET TO WORK. And you know who owns the gas, the billion dollar business men and the Prez and Vice Prez. The average working man makes one one thousandth per hour as what Bill Gates makes in one min.

The rich people are becoming rich by controlling the businesses and government while the poor become poorer for being exploited. Thus, there are many advocates that socialism be adopted so that wealth will be distributed.
