Sure, she made it look like she left because she was upset with Elisabeth Hasselback. I think she was looking for a way to get out of the View and thought by having a fight with Elisabeth would be a better reason than just leaving. I mean, when you think about it? What did Elisabeth even do wrong? She didn't say 'no Rosie, I don't think you believe are troops are terrorist.' How many times have Rosie and Elisabeth fought before though and then Rosie tried to say it was because of the split screen baloney. However, I think Rosie has a big ego. Just before that fight, she was having a big argument with the girls on how she believed she brought up the ratings of the View. Rosie made some really arrogant comment how the View got good ratings because of her and if it got an award it would have been because of her, and Joy was like 'so what are you saying, that we couldn't have got good ratings without you' Rosie said, 'well come on, I gave topics that made the show interesting.'

I think the real reason Rosie left the view is because she felt that the view ladies didn't think it was because of her that the ratings went up and now she hopes they will decline without her

I must say you do make some very intriguing and valid points.
Rosie was going to leave anyway stirring up some more controversy before she did could wind up helping her in the long run.
I did hear that CBS was indeed interested in her co-hosting a show similar to the View that would air in the same time slot opposite the View.It would have hot topics and a similar format.
Wouldn't that raise a few eyebrows in the View's make-up room!
On her blog she said that there had been offers , but no decisions had been made.
As of now she's going to go on tour with Cyndi Lauper for acouple shows so she says on her blog .

The only person who really knows why Rosie left is Rosie. We can speculate all we want and blame it on ego, fights with the other ladies, salary issues, etc. But in the end, only Rosie knows the truth and why she felt fighting with Elizabeth was the way to go out with a bang.

Personally, I feel "The View" is better without Rosie O'Donnell.

I agree with you in part. I don't think she left because of any split screen. And I don't think she intentionally picked this particular fight with Elisabeth (again) but they turned it into something personal.
She did imply that she was responsible for the high ratings. Is that because of all her stupid remarks about Donald Trump and Clay Aiken/Kelly RIpa, and the Chinese accent, Fox News (poor me), etc.
If she were smart she would have left with a big showy goodbye show. And you know Barbara would have honored her in a big way. They say "always leave them wanting more"......and she didn't. She really hurt herself by leaving with such bad behavior. It won't open doors soon for her. Who'd want to touch her by hiring her now. THis will have to cool way down before she'll be back on Tv.

I always thought that the View had some class. Then came Rosie. I have never seen anyone as self-centered and egotistical as she. Most of her conversations are about her and how she feels and how she thinks, she never takes anything anyone else says into consideration. Its her way or the highway. Frankly, I'm glad she is gone. I may actually start watching the View again. I think their ratings will increase now that she is gone.

I think Rosie left because someone dared to confront the "bully" and she couldn't handle it, especially someone as weak as Elizabeth. Rosie looked sincerly stunned and shocked. Elizabeth told Rosie to defend her OWN views and statements and not be asking everyoine else to stick THEIR necks out to support her off-the-wall views.

The best way to handle a bully is by confronting the bully.

she probaly wanted to go out with some controversy, and figured she only has a month left, so it worked out for her. my guess, is that she will have her own show in a couple months.
