Depends on how good of friends you are.
I'm a lesbian, and one of my closest friends told me he loves me, and I was like "Hehe...sorry Spence, I'm totally gay. And taken."
(To which my girlfriend smirked. It was cute. Both of them, they fight a lot. In a 'friends' way.)
Anyways, I'm still close friends with him. We're cool. If he hadn't told me eventually someone would've, and I would totally have freaked out.
So you should tell her.
Unless you've, say, met her for only three days and promply confess your love to her and say you can make her straight. Then you should keep that to yourself.
best of luck!

Well if you are a straight man and she's a lesbian, I don't think there's much hope for you. Lesbians are only attracted to women.

Going by your name I would say you're a guy.. My thought would be that you can tell her.. but if she is lesbian.. I'm guessing that she'll just say something like "You're a great friend, but you're just not my type".. Which, in all reality is fair.
However you say it, chances are she's not going to have a total change in her sexual preferences, etc.. (not to be mean to you, just saying that because people generally don't change at the drop of a hat).

If you are close enough to confide in her honestly, let her know that by choosing to live a deviant lifestyle, she is setting herself up for a life of heartache and misery. She will be outcasted by almost everyone outside the "gay community" and will be depriving herself of many of life's greatest joys; i.e., having a NATURAL, NORMAL family life, etc.
I don't know how old the two of you are, but if she is still young enough to be challenged on this, you may stand a better chance. The longer one has become assimilated into that way of living and thinking, the less likely they can ever come out of it. "The community" won't ever let go, once they sink their hooks in real good, it's hopeless; a lost cause.
I KNOW!

becuase she is a lesbian, she may not mind. she may be flattered by this. on the otherhand, she may be a little bothered by this. it could potentially ruin your friendship. think this over before you tell her. depending on the person she is and your relationship, a phone call could be enough or a simple coffee. just play it causually. good luck.

you can just tell her since she's your friend. thing is you can't expect her to reciprocate those feelings. things may become awkward at first but it's better than not knowing whether there might still be a bit of a girl in her.

How on earth could you possibly be in love with a woman who likes to sleep with women ? I'd be heading away from that mess ! What a recipe for disaster ! Forget her & find yourself a real woman.
