The American worker will always have the advantage in that we speak American English. Besides, unless you plan on making a career in fast food or lawn care, I don't think there is to much to worry about.
Older people can't make ends meet with the kinds of jobs the illegals are doing, and today's youth is way to privileged to do those jobs. When was the last time you answered a want ad for the kind of a job uneducated immigrants do, (illegal or otherwise).

The Democrats are the Party for anyone who will listen to them. They are all tied to the Unions for monetary purposes. At one point in history, they were the party of the American Workers. Then in recent years, they became greedy, and its all about power and money. Ask any Democratic politician what they think of Wal Mart. They dispise Wal Mart, one of the largest employers of working people. Why? Because they wont organize a union. The Immigration reform bill now before them isnt a reform bill at all. It really doesnt mean beans when it comes to enforcement. Its all for votes and power. Have you noticed, that in talking to the media, that all politicians refer to now is "being in power"?

Liberal Democrats, led by California's Barbara Boxer and South Dakota's Byron Dorgan, want to kill the guest worker provision outright.

Bush wants to preserve the flow of cheap, low-skilled labor to American businesses while limiting the potential costs to employers and taxpayers.

Under the program, there will be no children to educate (since guest workers won't be allowed to bring their families with them), no old-age entitlements to dole out (since workers will have to return home after working here for a maximum of six years), not even any health care to pay for (since these low-wage workers will be required to purchase health insurance). Why give them the opportunity to become citizens—or even permanent residents—if we can get what we need from them and then send them packing?

Great point! Their statement is definitely false. I think Republicans are the party for the American hard worker. That's final. Democrats are so wishy-washy.

The new immigration bill is not going to screw over the average American worker. Native born Americans have plenty of advantages that non-native born don't here. We are also eligible for gov't funding for higher ed, that would be the first step to ensuring a high paying salary.

Don't take anyone's word for anything and just look at the statistics:

And the statistics say that more people were working during the years that Democrats were in power than when Republicans were.

Just in recent years, the 1990s were prosperous years under President Clinton. As soon as Bush became president, everything went downhill economically.

Don't take my word for it. Just look at the numbers, and look at the facts.

It has nothing to do with screwing of Americans. Democrats feed off individuals that are needy. These individuals will be needy. Meaning, they will need social services. The Dems will give them those services and will get their votes in return.

Because while they are for the American worker, it is not for the reason you think. It is not for the worker's benefit, it is for their own.
Basically, more workers means more people to reach into the pockets of and grab some cash.
