That'd be pretty shocking.
Rose got 30 days for shoving an umpire.
Young, last year, got 50 days (or games?) for tossing his bat in the direction of the plate umpire, in the minors.
Actual assault would be, I think, a lot harsher, and probably remanded to the local district attorney as well. That's no part of baseball.

Suspended? Just suspended? Try fired and banned. That's assault and battery, at the very least, and that's IF the umpire survives.

A manager that does such a thing has no business being involved with the game again. Ever.

Sweetheart, he doesn't just get suspended. Doesn't he lose his job? Also, the ump could sue him for assault. Did that ever happen? Wow, that'd make the front page...

I would suspend him the entire season and make him pay for the injury bills.
