You are right on Ronnie but way way off on No 2. Kennedy was a womanizing worthless piece of the same stuff that the Clin-toons are. Although he had major problems, Richard (Tricky Dick) Nixon probably runs second. He ended the Vietnam War, Opened China to the World, and etc and etc. Then - that may be wrong as Eisenhower won WW II for us and then built the Interstate system of highways. But Kennedy - he and his father only had his sisters brain cut out so she would not embarrass him in his run for the presidency and had sex with Marilyn Monroe and Then so did Bobby and when she threatened to bring down a president, they overdosed her and after she had epileptic fits and vomited and had spasms and all that stuff that happens in a drug overdose - they cleaned her up and dressed her and posed her peacefully in her bed and it was called an accidental self overdose. Then just who cleaned her up before she was "found" dead??????? And Teddy killed Mary Jo in Chappaquiddick Pond ????? The Kennedy's were a major embarrassment and problem for this Nation. Not the second coming of Jesus as hinted by the number of pictures of JFK next to Jesus on the wall in American Homes. Sorry to Rant - but we need to admit the truth of history. The Kennedy's are crass scum just like the Clintons.

I think that it really depends on your point of view who was the best president....of any time frame. JFK really wasn't in office long enough to really make an true impact on the US. Ronald Reagan was a great speaker and could motivate just about anyone....but I don't think he did much either. But then again, I was young and dumb at the time and didn't pay attention to him either. Personally I feel that Clinton did alot for the US and normal, middle class Americans. He was/is a great Statesman and did alot to seemingly improve the world's opinion of the US. Truly, only time will tell as hind sight is always 20/20!

Whew. Its really tough for me to agree with your assessment of Reagan. Charismatic, optimistic, and a good leader...no doubt. But what he did to the country with his policies is nearly unforgivable.
For example, he exploded the national debt with the combination of military spending and tax cuts for the upper classes (remember "trickle down" theory?). Only Clinton was able to begin reducing that debt...which is now ballooning again under our current Republican president. He put off serious action on the AIDS epidemic for several crucial years. He fired the nation's entire air traffic control staff because they were protesting unsafe working conditions and low pay. In other words, he chose dollars over principle and safety.
The list of policy errors is endless.
I would select Harry S. Truman. He was undoubtably the most forthright and honest of our recent presidents. His character was unquestioned, was not a religious zealot, took responsibility for his own decisions, and oversaw a tremendous period of economic growth.
Here is my ranking from the end of Roosevelt's administration to today (based on policy wisdom, legacy, and overall benefit to the nation):
1. Harry Truman
2. Bill Clinton
3. Dwight D. Eisenhower
4. Lyndon Johnson
5. John F. Kennedy
6. Jimmy Carter
7. George Bush (1)
8. Ronald Reagan
9. Richard Nixon
10. George W. Bush (2)

JFK, mainly because he died before the public found out about his foibles, like womanizing. He made history by his handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Ronnie isn't even in the running, what with his jelly beans and sleeping during cabinet meetings.
