If you can't get it out all the way with the ice, you can get a product called OOPS. It is a solvent and can usually be found at Home Depot or Wal-Mart. This stuff is phenomenal and is fabric safe!

Once I ran some lipstick through the dryer and it got it out of all my clothes. It works great on gum though. It will also take bumper stickers off and stickers off windows etc.

I sound like I work for the company (I don't) I am just nuts about this product and I always have some around.

It's cheap too.

Use this very old trick - ice. Put ice on the gum to make it hard and then pull it off the carpet.

Put ice cubes on the gum, let it freeze, then you should be able to pull it off the carpet. Re-freze if sticky.

use dry ice, that will freeze it solid, then scrape it off with a butter knife or wood spatula. then vacume it before it thaws. USE GLOVES to handle dry ice, 109 deg farenheit below zero, will cause burns and frostbite, possible amputation. Takes about 5 min. to fully freeze the carpet and floorboard of car, so be patient.
