If you have the RESTORE disk and you are GIVING this computer away, then use that to FORMAT and begin the installation. You should finish the basic installation, and give the RESTORE disk to the person that you are giving it too.
Of course, if you just want to make it like new, the RESTORE disks are your answer. But you might want MORE RAM to make that computer perform better.
Try getting a 1GB RAM memory module for $65.00

That computer will work pretty good with more memory.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

you have 2 ideas relatively right here ... neither of which contain upgrading and buying new stuff to your cutting-edge computing gadget for the reason it relatively is in basic terms a great waste of money! First you need to in basic terms do a blanket reformat / restore. once you first bought your new computing gadget, it little question got here with a sprint CD called a restore disc. This does an entire reformat, restoring it like the day you delivered it homestead. optimistically you saved your restore disc and different stuff whilst you obtain the recent computing gadget. selection #2 is extreme-high quality and easy. turn off your previous computing gadget - throw it on the floor and dance on suitable of it. Now which you're feeling extra effective, bypass to the keep and purchase a sparkling computing gadget. it relatively is going to likely be significanctly extra good fee than attempting to enhance the single you have now and it is often a good purchase faster!! technologies variations so rapid, in 5 years you have multiple issues you will ought to enhance hardware clever, that the fee to realize this, only could be to prohibitive. it relatively is why it relatively is only approximately constantly extra good fee and a extra effective thought to purchase a sparkling computing gadget than to attempt and improve the previous one, especially if your previous computing gadget is a selection years previous. there is an selection #3. i do no longer know the place you reside yet once you reside in a close-by that has a best purchase, take your previous computing gadget to them and tell them you have a deadly disease and a gaggle of corrupted records as a consequence. they're going to do an entire reformat for you. you will lose all your records and it will fee you approximately $50, yet interior the top it is your maximum inexpensive selection.

It's not easy to delete all the data out there. If you access server sites they have copied your hard drive. You can delete all the information on your drive via the control panel. A hard drive may also be over written, fill it up and it will dump information to allow space for the new data.

To permanently erase you must send the hd through a degausser. But if youre just going to give your computer to charity, just "format" or reinstall windows

You can buy programs to wipe it and then have to reformat it .
This will clean the unit so if wanted to sell it it would be clean .
I have wipes several before I place them in other units.
