depends how good you are. Find a gene that cures cancer and you are rich!

It would be related to were they worked a Dreamwork Animator would be up there in Paid scale, while a guy animating shots for small web sites at home would be low on the scale. Same with the Cloning and gene research, cutting edge work would be up there in price. and cost alot to do. Grunt work not so much. Some gene work can be done on a shoe string that is why Bio wepons are so feared. The right mind with the right (or wrong ) training could alter genes in some really bad ways. But for the most I would have to say that on the average gene research would pay more. You have a very limited number of people who know how to do it with most of tise are being well paid.

scientist if you rise through academia or industry. Although you will be making less than 50k for a good 10-15 years and go through lots of training. For those years, computer animator.

I would be very surprised if a cloning specialist didn't receive more money than a computer animator. There are far more artists than there are top-level biologists.
