i could see the screen but sound is still from the pc

You need to connect your sound card to a reciever or to your tv. Keep the length down that wire is highly suceptable to signal degradation. Or if your pc is near the tv, just use the pc to output to a creative, logitech or klipsch (awesome) speaker set.

If you have a sound card you have to run a wire from the green plug on your computer to your T.V. You will need whats called a mini jack "headphone plug" and on the other end make sure you have two male RCA jacks witch will plug into you T.V. If you get a humming noise you will need to go to the hardware store and get a plug that elliminates the ground of your p.c. its only like two dollars.
