while the other comp does.. so can i just burn the files needed onto a cd and then transfer them to my comp that needs the updates?? any ideas where to get the files from??? i have an mp3 player that i want to charge on my comp that isnt updated but it wont charge. wont even install the cd software... says needs to be updated to service pack 1 or 2.. but it does have windows xp!!

SP2 contains SP1, so all you really need is SP2, and of coarse, all of the security updates that came after the service pack. You can download SP2 from the Microsoft Update site. Or, if you don't have broadband, you can order SP2 on a CD from Microsoft. It's free.

if the p/c has xp and only needs the service packs, then do a manule up date and install the packs!!!!!!!!!!
