Today is yet ANOTHER example of how IMPROVED DOMESTIC POLICY, law enforcement policy reform and increased security are what's protecting us from further terror attacks....

...NOT THE IRAQ WAR. Not even close.

How can ANYONE POSSIBLY disagree with this ?

I am a pacifist. I don't support war in any way, shape, or form. 9/11 happened, true, but I still don't think violent retaliation is the solution. I feel that working with the countries in which El Quaeda (sp?) has a stronghold to improve conditions would go much further toward softening the views of the young men and women who become terrorists. That's how I think we should "pay the price" of peace. As far as Iraq is concerned, I agree with the other answerers that there was no direct connection to 9/11 and since the weapons of mass destruction were fabricated, this whole war is a power play to get revenge for W's daddy (for the first Iraq War) and acquire a direct line to cheap oil. I can't see that as justification for the loss of a single American life. I support every soldier over there; they signed a contract to do a job, and come what may, they're doing it. They are the most honorable people I know. However, I can't help but feel that the man in the White House has no regard for those "little people" on the front lines and has sent them into a conflict that they cannot win. It is the President and the needless death he has caused that I do not support. there's my .02!

You are so right. No point in discussing this topic with you. You have examined history carefully and come to your conclusion.

Do this please. There is a web site that has the full text of each Presidential Inagrual Address. See if you can find it and read all from 1932 to the present.

After that read up on the history of the Viet Nam War. Emphasis on the TET Offensive please.

Look up the Zionist Movement and the history of Palestine.

The break up of the Ottoman Empire.

The history of Iraqs politics from WWII to present. Same with Iran, Pakistan, Afganistan, Lebenon, Egypt, Libya.

Look up literacy rates. It's easy and there are several sites. Notice where the lowest rates are and how that coincides with problem areas on this planet.

Look up the history of the squabble between Sunni's and Shiite's

Follow up that with a look into UN data on countries with the lowest living standards.

Read all 80 pages of the Geneva Convention.

Read the entire Charter of the United Nations.

Reread the US Constitution, hopefully you have already done that.

Find a guy that was in a unit that liberated a WWII Concentration Camp. I would hook you up with my Dad but he past in 86.

Find a guy that survived the Bataan march.

Find a guy that was with the 173rd AB when it arrived in Viet Nam in 65.

I would just like to be reassured that you have done something other than take advice from a newspaper headline.

If you find nothing to change your mind at least you will know a lot more about events that had impact on this planet.

The Iraq war is not helping us one bit. And those that think that it is preventing any attacks on this country, have no idea what's up. Neither Iraq nor it's citizens were responsible for 9/11, so forget that excuse, it doesn't fly.
We had no attacks on our soil before 9/11 either, and the so called terrorist that pulled off 9/11 were supposed to be in Afghanistan, not Irag, and most were citizens from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq.

How? Here's 6 reasons

1) People believe anything they're told
2) People blindly support their leaders
3) People don't give a single second's thought to anyone outside of their own lives
4) People are blind servants of the political masters, who obey their every whim and who cannot see through their lies of "freedom through war" and "justice through death"
5) It doesn't make a blind bit of difference if you're Republican or Democrat, they both stand for the same thing but said in different ways.
6) People are incredibly, unutterably, irredeemably stupid.

You are correct.Due to a very competent President and his great Administration improving domestic policy after Clinton depleted it which led to 9-11, we are all safe now..
