I know how to solve a paradox. For example, let's say you have an unstoppable force which meets an immovable object. The unstoppable force will spend an eternity trying move the immovable object; therefore, the whole attempt is pointless, but is not disallowed in any sense. Therefore, there is no paradox, but just an eternal event taking place.

Without looking up a definition, I would say that a paradox is a set of facts that seem at first glance to lead to a conclusion that cannot possibly be true. However, there is always a hidden flaw in the reasoning.

For example:

let a = b (assumed to be true)

multiply by a
a^2 = b*a

subtract b^2 from both sides
a^2 - b^2 = b*a - b^2

factor
(a+b)(a-b) = b*(a-b)

cancel factors of (a-b)
a+b = b

we know a = b by the first line, so:
b+b = b
2b = b
2 = 1

A paradox is something that has no clear explanation.

You divided by (a-b), which is equal to zero. You can't divide by zero.
