Majority....Bush (He fully supports this trash bill) is not going to veto this bill so they do not need 2/3.
The bill as it stands when it passes the Senate will have to go the the house...and there it will go through alot of changes if it is going to pass the House...so it will again come back to the Senate. It's going to be a long time before this bill is law, if it ever is law. In the meantime though it will destroy men like McCain and any chance he has for the nomination, and will probably mean losing the seats of many Republicans that support this bill (and rightly so).

A majority. However it needs 60 votes to get 'cloture' to avoid a fillibuster by the other 40.
I have no idea why the others are bothering to discuss what it would take to override a veto. If there were ever a President ready to sign anything whatsomever sent to him on a particular bill, Bush is that president and this is the bill.

Probably about 49 or 50 since the people running for president never vote. They only need a majority. The president likes this bill so there is no veto threat.

we need to stop 51 senators from votinig for this bill in order to stop the amnesty and the destruction of our country.
Let your senators know they support this they lose their jobs

Also in congress there is a bill to give 10 million dollars to LaRaza a mexican racist group. Congressman Rick Renzi of Arizona I believe
