Unless you're trying to breed your fish, you shouldn't have the male and female together. And if you are trying to have them spawn, you need to remove the female as soon as she's laid eggs. The male takes care of the eggs and bubblenest, up until the time the fry become free-swimming, they he needs to be removed as well.

It doesn't sound like your tank is set up for spawning - there shouldn't be any grass or gravel on the bottom if you are trying for young - the bottom needs to be bare.

It would be a good idea to take one of the fish out and give it its own home. Bettas can't be kept together indefinitely, and if either one isn't ready to spawn and the other one is, the one that is will likely kill the one that isn't.

See the link below for more on how to spawn and house bettas:

I desire you found out your lesson. This is why we RESEARCH the animals we plan on shopping. Never, ever, -I repeat- NEVER simply throw a male and a feminine betta within the equal tank in combination. It is enormously irresponsible and possibly deadly in your fish. Do you understand ANYTHING approximately betta breeding? My bet is you do not, so separate the 2 instantly if you have not but. They will have to each and every have their possess three-five gallon tank with a heater and filter out. Your feminine is most often torpid for the reason that she was once crushed and chased by way of the male. She is definitely critically injured, and is slowly fitting inflamed from the within out as a result of deficient water exceptional. If there may be any desire for her in any respect, comply with recommendation approximately a tank, heater and filter out. Leave the breeding to the individuals who've truthfully researched and effectively ready for it. ----Edit----> If you researched effectively, then you would not be asking such an awfuly elementary query. No one referred to as you dull, however the best way you're appearing definite indicates your adulthood.

Because they've probably mated(spawned). When they spawn, the male Betta squeezes the eggs out of the female. She's very tired, and you NEED to get her out of the tank , because the male's are very protective of their eggs. If their's a bubble nest at the top of your aquarium, you can be sure they've mated. Good Luck!
