DENMARK was the last team to win a major international tournament without even have to qualify or hosting it. they replace YUGOSLAVIA at the 1992 UEFA European Championship at the last minute & they went on to win it, beating GERMANY 2-0 in the final.

Brazil I think when they won the World cup in Chile??? They qualified directly because they were the past winners and they were not hosting it i think???
