The essence of freedom is responsibility. One is culturally trained in what behavior is OK and what behavior is not OK within one's community. You are personally responsible for your actions no matter how free you are to act...

Our freedom ends where freedom of others begins. Control yr self means that you should be aware of the boundaries of your freedom. For example, elected governments passing laws serving the interests of few over the benefit of the many.
‘Concerned’ parents treat their children as a piece of land, expecting their child to become a doctor ignoring the child’s desire to be an artist.
Priests are preaching all kinds of nonsense making themselves gods in the place of God.
These are but a few examples of how people take too much personal freedom to restrict other peoples right to know, feel and decide for them selves.

If you have control over yourself and your decision making, then you are free. Free to go your own way, make your own choices and live life in your own way. Discipline helps a person make wise choices in life and also helps the person focus on the important things in their life. It takes discipline to do the right thing and to make the best decisions for ourselves.

self control... self authority, self responsibility... the problem with your question is that people haven't been freed yet... You have to know freedom first... freedom to think for yourself, freedom to experience your conscience.. freedom from religions telling you what to do... freedom from holly wood telling you what to do... freedom from being told what to wear by fashion,.. freedom from what to feel from so called experts... freedom from being told freedom to experience life, to experience emotions in color, what we have now is gray and drab.... once you are free you are connected to your own conscience... your conscience tells you right from wrong... that is what true freedom gives you... Be yourself... people who seek to do no harm need no law... our personal conscience and karma keep it balance.
