A global war on terror is like saying a global war on the common cold. There are always going to be crazy people who want to do us harm. There are right and wrong ways to go about fighting those people.

NO to deny that there are terrorists in the world would be foolish. But the idea that there is a coordination between all of theis disparate and splintered terrorist groups is absurd. The US is not the only nation that is effected by terrorism, we just talk the most about it. We also have the best media machine. Most of these terrorists couldn't find their own asses with 2 hands and a compass. Al-Queda just got lucky because we were so lax. Part of the reason there hasn't been any more attacks is surely the incompetence and inexperience of the terrorists themselves (thank god). As well as the coordinated Worldwide defence against it. Only some nations are truly fighting terrorists. The Israelis for example inspire 100 new terroists everytime they overreact to an attack on their people. They started the whole problem in the first place. Jews had been coexisting with the arab population of palestine for thousands of years before the current state was founded. But terroism is a world wide issue. it has existed for 30 years in some parts of the world. The ONLY reason the US is concerned about it is beacuse it finally affected us.

I believe there are terrorist planning on blowing up the United States, I don't believe they are being stopped by the war in Iraq, I believe they are crossing into our borders. The terrorist in Iraq are blowing up the Iraqi's and our troops, meanwhile they are crossing our borders. How can we stop them? Who is watching our borders? I can watch the news and it shows illegal people crossing our borders in the amounts of 10's and 20's at a time, is anyone stopping them? Well, yeah we're trying, but we can't get them all. Wouldn't it be a big help if our troops were here in the United States, guarding our borders and stopping anyone who may be a possible terrorist from entering our country? Is this really a question that needs to be asked? But our representatives want to turn a blind eye to the possibility that the people crossing are anything but people who are just looking for a better life. Must be great to be so trusting and live in the world of fantasy. I don't have that luxury, and neither do you.

You can't have a war against a tactic. Terror is a tactic, or means of which to wage war. There may be a war on terrorists, which are the people engaging the tactic of using terror.
I agree with the first answer, WTF are we doing in Iraq? We should be 100% in Afghanistan locating and destroying those terrorists who attacked us on 9/11.

Yes, they are called the Democratic Party. I can't wait to hear the spin of the likes of Edwards and Kucinich on the political trail. How about Harry Reid who is in complete denial?

Quite easy actually, if you understand that terror is a tactic not an opponent, and you don't make war on a tactic.

I thought Iraq was the main battle ground...
fighting them over there, so they wouldn't be over here...
WHY IS YOUR PLAN FAILING SO MISERABLY?
why are they over here?
IT is a global war... so stop focusing on ONLY ONE COUNTRY...
