Ok, so I have a linksys router, and I connect to a network called "default", and occasionally to the network in the room next to me. For several weeks, my wireless internet hasn't worked. It connects to default, but it doesn't work. It will recieve 1 or 2 packets of data, yet it still says it's connected. Does anyone have any suggestions...or alternatives to using wireless?

I've tried unplugging it, resetting it, "repairing" the connection, turning off my computer. It briefly worked for two days, and I tried to see what changed, but I couldn't find any noticeable differences, and then the internet cut off again. I don't know what else to do with it....

contact linksys' tech support. If you bought their product, they should provide troubleshooting if the service you bought isn't working. Also, contact your isp, or computer's manufacturer. Maybe they can also provide help.

If you don't want to do all of that, you can also go to internet explorer. Click tools, diagnose network connections, and follow the instructions.

i would unplug your router, shut off your computer, then restart the router, then restart the computer and see if it finds it. if you have a wireless card, that may be the problem. usually home use routers have a reset button that resets all data to factory defaults (which unless your a tech junkie you havent changed much of them). also if your recieving 1 or 2 packets its still technically conected. wireless routers somethimes suffer if they have "overhead noise" such as machines or if there far apart from the computer, so that could also be one problem? try them!

well if you want you may just plug your computer directly into your router and choose not to use wireless this might get you on and then you can contact linksys support and see if your wireless configuration is correct linksys 800-326-7114
