I'd have to add "The Princess Bride," "The Lost Boys," "Beetlejuice," "subUrbia," "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "The Dark Crystal" to the list we've got going here.

By the way, "The Wedding Singer" takes place in 1985, but it was released in 2001.

Beverly Hills Cop was the first VHS video I watched on a home video machine. That was like '86. Loved all the Back to the Future movies. Very clever. I watched Who's That Girl many times cuz it was so funny. Bill and Ted was a classic. Again, funny. Black Widow was my favorite mystery for a long time. Blues Brothers very funny. Born on the 4th very sad. Dead Zone with Christopher Walkens crazy eyes. He spoofed that himself on SNL so many times and it made a great series. Earth Girls are Easy...one of the funniest. Ferris Bueller, again, the comedy decade. Field of Dreams my favorite movie of all time...has a little of everthing. Ghostbusters. And Poltergeist was just plain creepy. So I'd say mostly the 80's put out some of the funniest clever movies I ever saw.

Sixteen Candles

It's an American Classic. Funny, and embodies what the eighties were all about, and Jake Ryan was super hot!
