i know honda civics are being marketed as such (seen the commercials?) but it's true. honda engines are built like tanks. i'd recommend going with them. my mom had a honda for like 6 years and it didnt even break down once! now she has a mercedes and she's had to fix it so many times...

For what you describe, I'd recommend a Toyota Corolla, Chevy Cobalt or Malibu, Ford Fusion, Honda Civic and maybe the lower end Saturn or Scion brands.

All offer excellent value for the cars in their class, and prices lower than average for that class.

Best. toyota, honda, I owned an auto repair shop and have experience with very many cars and I would choose one of those. if we leave out the word "best" I would consider a ford focus for these reasons. probably cost less to buy ,there is a ford dealer in nearly every town,if you pay to service it correctly it will be a good car for about 120thousand miles, and costs less to maintain and repair than a toyota.

depends. Most small Fords, Toyotas and Hondas are good but can be expensive even used.. Hyundai/Kia's are good small car values. Get a copy of Consumer Reports car issue (libraries have them) and see their list of recommended used cars.

I never knew they make "college cars." Are those some special cars, which only college students have the right to drive? Do you have to slide your student ID card in some special card reader in order to start this car? Do you have to turn the car in the moment you graduate?
