HCl(g) +H2O ---> H3O+ + Cl-

HCl is a gas at room temperature and pressure - what you get in these bottles of hydrochloric acid is a solution of HCl in water (concentrated HCl is ~35 - 40% HCl in water). In the gas form, HCl is a covalently-bonded molecule, but in aqueous solution it completely ionises.

H+ is found in water as hydronium ion H3O+
Cl- is chlorine ion

Hydronium and chloride ions are formed.
