My best friend owns his Dell XPS 600 in late October 2005. His XPS 600 used to be fast in late 2005, but few months later his computer is becoming old and slow because the new games were far more advanced, new graphics, and very complex now. His computer can barely play these next-gen games like Oblivion. My brother and I built our own-custom gaming computer. We built it in Christmas 2005. Our gaming computer is 2X powerful than my friend's. My friend want me to tweak his computer like new tweaks driver for his graphic card (Nvidia Geforce 6800) and overclocking configuration. It runs perfectly and almost becoming to par as our gaming computer. Few weeks later, my friend's computer screwed up. My friend started to blaming me what I did some tweaking for his system. I told him that I didn't tweak his WHOLE system, but just for his video card. He misunderstood me. My friend started to reinstall the old driver (77.79). Today, he still use the same driver and his games is slower as hell!

I know this antivirus program very well and it does happened to my dad's computer and totally screwed my dad's computer. I found the evidence that causes my friend's computer. I tried to make my friend to understand me, but he don't believe me. I told him if he still using his Norton Antivirus and it will contiune screwing his computer up until his computer will be out of comission. Every time, his computer always alerting him that virus infected inside his computer. I told him everything what is going to happen to his computer if he still using Norton Antivirus and he don't believe me!!!

Nicholas - you have learned a valuable lesson in life. Never ever fix anything for a friend that is complicated - car - tv -stereo - computer - telephone - etc as they will use it the same way that broke it in the first place and then blame you even if it is years later. Most people never ever do the simplest routine maintenance like disk cleanup and disk defragmenter and these really should be done weekly. Then the insides should be cleaned with spray air every couple months to end heat problems. And you should add a program that cleans old files completely out of your computer and use that weekly too. Run the full spyware and virus programs weekly. Many things must be done to keep the computer cleaned up and running fast. Your friends problem is probably his failure to do maintenance but - as you know he blames you and will not listen to reason. So let him go with the way things always are and then when he sees what your computer will do tell him he needs to have his fixed at a shop as he does not take responsibility.

It happens man. I have worked on the computers for teh better part of 13 years now and I do alot of work for family and friends. I dont care if it is one year from the date you worked on it if a computer breaks you will 9 times out of 10 be blamed for it*LOL*. No seriously it is not that bad but ppl to tend to blame the computer guy that last worked on it if something else breaks. It doesnt have to even be related to the same problem but most ppl (unless they know something about computers) only see thier computer is broke and you where suppose to fix it. Good luck

One important lesson you guys will learn.
Never offer to fix a friends computer, or let your friends fix your computer, most of the time, it ends in tears.

Plus there are a fault on the XPS build around that time, I just had to arrange for an engineer to replace one of our customer's XPS, checking the forums, so many have board probs with this model.

Nope. If anybody says a third grader ought to write extra effective, they do no longer submit to in ideas a third grader's vocabulary. that does no longer recommend "Whoa, it relatively is massive, because of the fact the vocabulary is college point" nonetheless. What did you do--%. as many words as you need to that have been 3 syllables or longer? if you're going to tell me, "it relatively is how I talk." Bupkis! I see the way you talk. You "talked" to ask your questions and set up the scene. Now, quit attempting to beseech us jointly with your multisyllabic litany of sesquipedalian loquaciousness (See? anybody can do this junk lol) and come again to showing off your tale, no longer you. he's an ex-con. i do no longer care if he's reformed or no longer. those are no longer the narrations for a narrative approximately ex-cons. the assumption of showing a narrative is to coach the story, no longer prepare off. ;)

Whatever you do... Don't offer to tweak his machine anymore. You already know that he'll blame you for any future problems.

Let him handle his own speed issues from now on.
