Nothing too strenuous, but enough to get the heart pumping. Do you think this in any way harmed the baby? Is it safe to continue doing them, or should I stop?

Your baby is fine. Many women continue working out while pregant, although I wouldn't suggest doing sit-ups.

If I were pregnant I probably wouldn't do situps. Probably walk a mile or two a day just to get the heart pumping. If you are really worried about hurting the baby etc. ask your doc. He/she can give you more of a straight answer and can suggest other options for working out/staying fit.

Good luck and congrats!! :o)

You're fine. Your fifth week means you were approximately 3 weeks pregnant, in reality. Most women don't find out until at least week 5, and are still smoking, drinking, etc. right before they find out.

You should find alernative exercises though - mostly for yourself. The stomach muscles will start separating, and after the first trimester, you ought not lay on your back too much, so crunches aren't ideal.

There are tons of pregnancy yoga and pilates books out there to help you stay toned without doing damage.

It should not have harmed your baby at all. You should be able to do situps probably until you are unable too. There will be a point where you won't feel like you can anymore. You should ask your health care provider though, they would know the best thing for you.

you are absolutely able to continue working out and it is very good for you and the baby. the only thing you shouldn't do is work out so intensely that you get out of breath. you can walk and probably even jog and ride a bike as long as you can still comfortably carry on a conversation without being winded. since it is summer you should try not to overdo it and get too hot. also stay out of hot tubs and saunas but if you exercise you will definitely have an easier labor.

im not sure about siting but from what i understand most exercise is good id think situps would to the more mussle you have built up in you stomach the easier the labor when my wife was about 7 months pregnate i took her to the mall and we walked steps for hrs one day she woke up with and said her stomach was upset a but but wasnt hurting much she was gona go back to sleep but i wanted the excuse to drive like a crazy man so i took her to the hospital expecting to be sent home but to be prepaired for when the real thing happened and our daughter practly fell out of her she felt little pain and i think she was in labor for less then 2 hrs. Now she didnt exersize at all when she was pregnate with our son 2 years later and she hurt like hell during labor. as always it would be best to ask your doctors advice But if he says the situps are ok I would defently keep up with them
