Don't you guys think that they are getting more and more intolerant to each other in this forum atleast?...does it happen after every world cup final or its some different outcome this time?I am Just curious becuase i could not recall such thing or could not spot some foul play when Pakistan lost to Australia in Final 1999,..rather people were disappointed on Pakistani team's worse performance in my country ..i admit Gilly didn't use squash ball in his gloves in that final but still Australia managed to win that final and " I am not supporting Australia and i m not their fan either lol!!

Okay no bashing for any of them..just want some sensible asnwers please !

OOps SOAD_ROX, I would try not to be stupid next time but its something inborn i am blessed with ;) !

Actualy My focus is "attitudes" on 'both' the sides and not the events of those finals..yes 134 runs were not a target even...but here again the credit would go to Australian team that they got Pakistan out on such a low score ,if i am not forgetting even that day rain played some role but we know it was our team who should be blamed ! anyways..Srilankans played realy realy well in final against Aussies , i must say, and i always give credit to both the teams..and this is not realy a "diplomacy" as nalakafairly says ,lol ! i mean it !

nalakafairly, You are right, one should fight for justice,i support it , what i am urging is that it should be with logics and healthy discusions..not with 'ranting' !which is comming from both the sides ..you see !!

great question. U, r sooo diplomatic..as always lol
*How does Worldcup 2007 (Final) has effected Srilankans and Australians cricket fans??
in a big way.... i suppose..whatever some 'out -siders" say,
most Australians are really scared to death when some
non- australian player do well.they simply cant stand when others .
it's Unique for Australian cricket.....
(fans, authorities,media,etc)
ex: no.01)...
.when Indian bowler Jasu patel took
9 australian wicketsin 1969,what OZ mesia did?
they staged big hue & cry and ICC obliged meekly,
& banned Jasu Patel.
ok,sister, what do you think?why non- australins get punished
90% of times....& Australians 10%?
Does it look fair to you?

ex.:No.02)
when Simon Jones destroying Australia,.. wot happened?
oz media successfully destroyed him.

ex: No .03)
when Muralitharan start to take buckets of wickets, australins
got sooo jealous even umpire Daryl Hair couldn't resist,..
he call him no ball

ex: No.04)
again Ross emerson called Murali "no ball"
does that fair & square to you?
Australians always go for kill, when others do well.

ex No. 05)
Once Sri Lanka played in Australia, the OZ fans in the ground chanted non-stop ....."NO Ball" No Ball",whenever Murali started to bowl , in whole series.
there are so many examples, everybody knows that.

*How does Worldcup 2007 (Final) has effected?
Ok simply Australia was not so sure how to win with that final with fighting sri lankan spirit..., they wanted to descover new method to win ,..in doing so they aproved Gilchrist to use
somthing belongs to other sport .."the miserable squash-ball'

if he hadn't used "suash ball" ,he could have gotten out
so easily.it's not that he is not a good player.
he was in the.. world cup "UTTER FAILURE"
why such a world class player played foul?

they wanted the cup so badly. they wanted to win by anymeans.
so Sri Lankan fans are not cowards to agree what others
say....
it is not crime to fight for JUSTICE.

so,both parties,i guess....can not help it that disliking eachother. when Sri Lanka &australia meet next time,
see what australians invent...
may be they accuse murali again. or Malinga
or some ridiculous reason to demoralise Sri Lankans.
thehe is no doubt they would do any foul thing to beat Lions.
even thishappened to other asian team,we lankans fight.
that's the fact.
but other non australians never supported sri Lanka
in this worst world cup final controvercy.
but i thank you zoe, damsel,Karikala, soad rox,& others
JUST for answering this squash ball controvercy.
though they totally worship "Australian Players."
when Australians come clean oneday,...then both fans may get alone.

until that happens.....we fight for justice.
cuz , if we dont fight "WHO" would?

Take heart, chin up. Know something, the Aussie old guard is not going to be hear for ever. Remeber the Windies! Most may think Aussies will not suffer a fate like that. True that will be bad for the game. Then again it happens. Remember the Sri Lankan side of 1996. In 1999 the defending champions barely made it above Kenya and Zimbabwe in the group stages. And that was pretty much the undefeated champions of '96. See the All Blacks. The best rugby team in the world - but has won just one world cup.
So you see, it was just one battle. The war is still on.
Rome was not built on one day - also it didn't come down in one day either.

The Sri Lankans had some reasons to feel disappointed due to rain interruptions. But they relied more on a silly reason to give vent to their feelings which they carried a little too far.More so when the SriLankan players themselves were least interested.
Any way let us now look forward to the 20-20 WC.
This is the first time the Finals of a world cup led to some confusions and disappointments which could have been avoided.

Till 1994 Sri Lankans were greatful towards Aussies for several reasons, and then changed everyhing after that. Muralitharan-Hair "No ball" issue, B&H final's umpiring decisions and sledging during the tour turned the feelings totally opposite way. This grudge continued after that.
Australian cricket fans are widely known to be very racial and partial. ( Ex- SA's & Murali's last tour to down south.) Nothing wrong being partial towards their team, but whole attitude even of the Aussie Media is typical Aussie type. They are mad abt there sports person and they are the best sporting nation after Americans. But, they are very uneasy towars opposite side's better players. They always target them.
So, This grudge continued and Sri Lankans take every oppurtunity to reply.

After the World Cup the Sri Lankan fans are really sad because the had reached the finals but could not win it from that position and the Australian fans would be very happy because they won the World Cup three times in a row.

Hi still here for a bit :) ....

Well until I read all the tripe dished out by the unbelievably rabid Sri Lankans on this forum I really didn't think about them at all!!!

Now I merely pity them and derive amusement from their continued idiocy! But I must stress only those who express their biased and utterly unfounded allegations without a skerrick of knowledge about this nation (oops I meän my nation, not there right now!) and its psyche!

So no, I don't harbour any ill will towards them .
Why should I?
They are merely attempting to salve their suppurating wounds by blaming anyone and thing except the fact that they weren't good enough!
Sorry gotta go this damned keyboard is driving me blazny with its weird central European hieroglyphics!

I too am tired of seeing such childish comments and outbuirsts by the supporters of Australia and Sri Lanka in this forum, which is totally unpleasant. One must understand and digest the fact that in a game only one team can win and it will be the team which play better on the given day.

Once the match is over ,there is no place for comments in the international cricket. These are just the way of showing frustations when there lose the match. After every world cup, there are some issues which gets on,but it gets over when the international schedule starts. So, just some headlines for few days, after that it will be over.

hi to kanga, wassie, brissy o and all the other Aussie cricket fans-great question rosni. lol

ok srilankans may be a bit unlucky with rain interruptions n the squash ball( which is not illegal technecally) but they need to accept the reality n get over it.
its in their own benefit n for their team . they need to move on.just like anyother losing finalist.
n if they need help in coping it take the help of experienced england lolz
oh nakalafairly i offcourse i dont worship australian players rather i hate them for their arrogance .
but until the usage of squash ball is not proven illegal we ve to accept it n srilankan cricket board seems to be ok with it . They havent lodge any protest legally in the Icc.
