IF SO...
It might deter some of these Liberal hedonists from conceiving on pool tables at the local watering hole without any regard for the consequences of their behavior.

First of all why people keep calling a fetus a baby? It is an embryo, not a whole human being. Not everybody is religious or has the same ideas about the soul. So having an abortion is not a murder. I grew in a place where abortion is still illegal, my aunt died because of it, my mother almost died because of it. Were they murderers? no, they were abandoned by their husband, and they could just not support economically another child. It was a tough decision and a scary one. Today I live in a country where abortion is also illegal. Still two years ago, any woman (I mean any, it could be a 13 years old girl) that had an abortion, was jailed, minimum of two years. Others less lucky died. Making abortion illegal, is not a problem for women that have money, they just take the plane to the UK or Switzerland. Also they can pay (a LOT of money) for some reliable doctor to make it in a safe place. But women with less resources, do it under terrible conditions, it is no joke and usually they die from infection or from a terrible hemorrhage. Some women decide on abortion for the well being of the baby be it for economical reasons, or because the woman is just too young to be a parent. It is easy to shout against abortion where it is legal, the consequences of passing such law is like going back to the middle ages. Supposedly religions should have NOTHING to do with laws. Notice that where abortion is illegal in the West most of the population is highly catholic.

Prior to the legalization of abortion in this country, abortion was performed in secret primarily by doctors who had lost their licenses for one reason or another or by women who thought they knew what they were doing and made a living at it. Their usual instrument was a straightened wire clothes hanger.
Oftentimes the procedure resulted in a perforated uterus and hemorrhage, infection and death of the mother. When this happened, the abortionists were usually found, arrested and sent to prison for a very long time. It didn't keep women from seeking someone else out to do an abortion when they needed one.
Women would also try drinking certain weird concoctions that would purportedly cause them to spontaneously abort. They also injured themselves in hopes that they would miscarry.
For a prime example of how it was done watch the movie DIRTY DANCING again.
Instead of fighting for or against abortion, people should instead concern themselves with providing birth control education that includes more than abstinence. Birth control should be made available to all women of childbearing age without parental knowledge or consent. Young men and women also need to be taught the dangers of STD's.
I am not condoning casual sexual intercourse, but I am wise enough to realize that nothing is going to keep young people from having unprotected sex. If abortion were made illegal, it would just be a step back into the dark ages. Some of you will remain opposed to legal abortion until you or someone in your family needs one.

they should charge them and hang them .some say that it wouldn't stop abortion so why make it illegal with that kind of thinking why not drop all penalty for crime it don't stop it. but it dose put a way the ones that get caught and that is what we need to do to any one murdering a baby by any means including abortion

To my knowledge, no country that bans abortion treats it the same way as murder or imposes the death penalty for the act. Where illegal, abortion procurement is considered an entirely separate offense from murder, just as it was in the states that banned abortion before Roe v. Wade.

They would. It would be just like the days before Roe v. Wade. where there were 1.2 million abortions each year done illegally. Making it illegal isn't going to stop the women from doing it. So what are you really winning in this case?

Before it was legal, they very rarely charged women who illegally aborted.
They also did after rape or incest a routine D&E which is a medical abortion.
It should still be illegal as it was previously.

Why not just put it to a binding referendum and let the people decide State by State ?
Make it a multiple question if you wish -
If you don't like the way your State voted move to another one

If a pregnant woman dies from childbirth, should we charge the people who made abortion illegal with her and her baby's murder?

Dear Princess,
Before you pontificate too loudly about the evils of abortion, perhaps you should look into your party's stand on universal access to contraception and sex education.
It's called hypocrisy.
