Answers to real questions are hard to find. I asked a simple question while people fear knowing about what they are breathing in the air due to aircraft spraying and after an hour or so, all I got was silence. And that was after i was indirectly ridiculed with know-it-all jargon

I hope someone out there is above the average poster here.
I probably should ask you all what a good brand of soda or gummie bear would be instead. I feel embarassed to even care

Lenora,

How are we supposed to answer a question like "why people fear knowing about what they are breathing"? First, how do you know that people are afraid of this information? Second, has it occurred to you that maybe many people are simply not aware of the problem? Either way, the Answers Biology forum works best when you have a factually based question. There are separate categories for those seeking opinions or trying to make polls.

I think you've answered your own question, in a way. You asked why people aren't interested in knowing about a certain type of pollutants. Nobody answered seriously, which confirms your initial belief that people aren't very interested in that topic.

Sure, some of the questions may be pretty silly. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that- it's common knowledge that teenagers love the internet, and they may not be interested in Proust. But I asked a really specific question about investment options for my 401(k), and I only got a few answers, but the ones I got were excellent.

If you don't like this site, I hope you can find another that is more to your taste. Good luck!

Because youphrased you question so that you sounded like a crackpot, Lenora!...have you actually READ the question you posted? It makes no sense, has no supporting data, and ends (after an "The End of the World is Coming!" speech) by explaining that if we eat flax seeds and garlic, everything will be alright!

One of those claims HAS to be preposterous, they cannot possibly both be true!

Don't expect too much, really educated people don't even amount for 15% of the population, and the really clever avoid such places as Yahoo... Me I find it fun here look around and laugh, don't expect to be taken seriously here... It is why I spend most of my time in the politic section, no need to be clever to talk about Bush...;)

It would help if you kept things positive even if you think the rest of us is beneath you. Could you instead try to encourage us to think differently? refrase your question, make an effort to ask again slightly differenly or in a different category? I think you yourself could possibly learn something about tact and ettiquette..... instead of calling us names and cursing the world try to think of a constructive way to solve your challenge/problem.
