I think this smoking B.S. has gone to far, only gov, analyst are saying that second hand smoke is so dangerous, why has the private sector kept quite? or are they told to keep quite? some people believe every thing our crooked gov, tells them, no wonder the gov, can steal and rob from us so many dupes out there who would have a hemorrhage if you said the gov, is crooked, and anyone with common sense know they are the worst criminals we have but, they can do it legally. I feel this is another test to determine just how far the gov, can push people before they rebel, evidently there is no limit, and we will all end up as pawns for the hi an mighty then who will you blame? the gov, only has jurisdiction in 3 areas by our constitution, 1 espionage,2 counterfeiting, 3 interstate commerce, they are claiming they get their jurisdiction from the commerce clause, how the hell can they control every aspect of our lives thru the commerce clause? yet they do ,every state is supposedly a country independently , the commerce clause is only to keep peace with the states and keep them from trying to steal from one another. I for one want the gov, ot of my life and back to where they should be in Washington, (only)

Amongst all the 'small print' there is an exception to performances where the 'artistic integrity' makes it appropriate for some one to act a part smoking. They can smoke during the actual performance BUT NOT during any rehearsal ! So that seems pretty clear for plays, but how it will work for films heaven knows.

I think so, yes.
That reminds me of something that happened a few weeks ago. I saw a play at RADA and the characters all smoked. At the interval I had to leave because the smell was making me nauseous! So hopefully I won't have to experience that again in the future if I am watching a play.

Apparently so! There was a big row at the studio where they film East Enders as they won't be allowed to smoke on the set as it's classed as workplace. June Brown went mental and said she would carry on smoking. So theoretically there will be no more smoking on our screens either!!!

These laws are not used for everything and they do allow exceptions. They have these laws in the USA and there is still smoking allowed in movies even though the PC police are starting to whine about that now.

I don't think you get much 2nd hand smoke from a film. A drama may be another story all together.

It depends on the wording of the law and also if the film is being filmed in Britain or not.

They'll probably use the herbal cigs a lot of non smoking actors use when playing a smoking role, should'nt cause any hassle

I believe that smoking will be allowed in stage plays, but warning notices will have to be posted.
