It pops up the sign in screen every few seconds, and if you close it without signing in, an error message appears, with the sign in screen reappearing immediately. If it helps, it's AOL version 9.0 Security Edition LE. The phone computer support is down, and the online tech support keeps popping up with error messages. PLEASE - help me make it stop!

Here's what you do.
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add or Remove Program. Highlight anything that has "AOL" in it and delete them.
Then go to Start, Programs, Acccessories, Window Explorer, Programs Files and see if their are any folders that say "AOL". Delete them.

Don't delete anything else. This will get rid of them FOR GOOD!.

If AOL is your service provider the only thing i can tell you to do is switch ISP's. With AOL you have to put up with all there crap. In other words giving you stuff you really don't want and telling you if you turn this certain thing off then something that you do want won't work. In other words it's bundled together so some things you want and some you don't. But you still get it any way. Try a new ISP and get rid of all the AOL out of your machine then that way you can put what you want in your machine with out having other things bundled with it. I guess you can tell i am not a fan of AOL.

They do have phone support, but most are single mothers that were refered to AOell because if they don't they wont get welfare anymore. AOell SE shold not be used with any other security and it is not as good as the company it came from Mcfee. AOell does alot of stuff in the bachground of your computer. To remove AOell, you cant jut go to add/remove programs, If you do, it'll still be there and still running. I'd back up data and do an OS reinstall or return to factory settings. Why use their software at all, you can use their portal and their email for free.
