Many people say that anything is worth it, but I want specific answers and I really want to know what is the MOST you would ever give up to ensure a 100% safe environment.

Already gave up too much, and with no guarantee.

Is it possible to ensure a 100% safe enviroment? We have, and still do, the highest murder rate of industrialized countries prior to 9-11.
Can I have my rights back that have been taken away already? Who do I see about the guarentee refund?

Only a complete coward gives up anything for security.

You can never have 100% complete security. Even in Stalinist Russia and Nazi Germany, their wasn't complete security (Hitler was almost assisinated a couple times).

The Chinese even built a huge wall (a structure VISIBLE from space) to prevent raids from Mongolia, and that didn't work.

You pay a price to live in a free country, and that is you take the good with the bad.

JFK was more than correct when he said the only thing we have to fear i fear itself. Fear destroys free societies. Fear make people turn to the government for protection, when it is more than evident that the government cannot protect them. Fear has been used to establish dictatorships many times over since the dawn of time.

If people really believed in the principles of this county, then they should be willing to die for their freedoms instead of cowering behind the government.

This country is turning into a country of cowards.

Live free or die.

Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of people who are willing to give up their freedom and their privacy in order to have security. It's tragic, really, because, if anything, such thinking belongs in a totalitarian regime rather than a democracy like the United States.

What do you mean by security? The US is by no means secure. There are other countries where there is no security and day to day life is a constant struggle. The thing that our country wants to give up for security is freedom. I would rather have freedom than security.

Nothing. It is a pipe dream. There is absolutely no such thing as 100% secure and like anything that sounds too good to be true, it's not.

Any man who gives up freedom for security deserves neither. I forgot who said it but I believe it. I can handle my own security issues, just give me an M4 and I'll be good to go.

I used to think that a few freedoms were a good exchange for security. I was wrong. I've realized, we have no more security. I have since decided that giving up our government would guarantee us security and freedom.

Benjamin Franklin was right, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

It would be hard, but we should give up the internet. Thats how predators find most of their people, it's where most "adult content" is, and it has a big impact on children. There are pros to the internet, I even enjoy using it, but the cons outweigh the good stuff about the internet.
