I'm as huge of a hp obsesser as they come, and am eagerly awaiting the release of Deathly Hallows. But I haven't made a crucial decision - should I get the book at the midnight release party and Barnes and Noble or should I get it delivered to my doorstep the day of the release?
If I go to the midnight release, the advantages are the experience as I've never done it because of timing, the excitement of being there, and getting the book earlier. The disadvantages are the crowds, the risk of being spoiled, being too tired to focus while reading, and having no one to go with that's a fan. I'm not interesting in the arts and crafts stuff, etc.
If I order it from amazon.com, they guraanteed it will arrive on my doorstep the day of the release, and so it would be comfortable to read the book after a long rest without the risk of being spoiled - in my room. But even though it arrived at noon for HBP, what if it comes later? Also, if the midnight release is fun, I will miss out.

Amazon, that way you will be comfortable and happy while reading it, not exhausted and dragging.

I went to the last two releases at B&N and have to say......Its your last chance! This is the big one! Besides crafts there are also puzzles and quizes to do, as well as competitions to check your knowledge against other fans ( I got beat by an 9 year old, I was 24, Ouch!) winner usually gets the first book! go in and make your reservation ahead of time, then when u get there u get a # and they call your group later to get your book. I usually get mine around 1a.m., I know its late, but do u really wanna miss out on the fun? This year should be extra good!
lucky for me, I live in austria now, and will be in london for the release!! woowoo it just happens to fall on my birthday..Best Birthday Ever!
By the way theres 0% chance of getting spoiled. They do not bring the books in to the store until midnght, and usually everyone is so excited to get reading they leave right away.

I've been thinking through that myself. Go to the midnight party if you can. Yes, there might be a risk of it being spoiled, but there are risks for everything in life. I would go ahead and go to the midnight party because it is a once in a lifetime event. I got HBP at the midnnight party, but I didn't read it until the next morning.

Go to the midnight release!!! This is THE LAST ONE. you won't get another chance! It'ss be a big party with fellow HP fans. yeah i guess theres a risk of spoilers, but just remember: they're not true until you actually read the book. If you do go, think of me please!! I've never been to one either :'(
Edit: also, i wouldn't trust a dilevery on the day of. I ordered OotP and it didn't come till a week later.

i am doing both. i'm buying the regular book at midnight and reading it all the way thru without stopping, then giving it to my dad (who is a fanatical reader as well). i have pre-ordered the deluxe edition from amazon.com and will just wait for it to come in the regular old mail. best of both worlds!
good luck with whatever you do!!!!
there will DEFINITELY be jerks who will try to spoil it. i won't get on the internet until i am finished with it, nor will i watch t.v. or listen to the radio... it's all about reading.

Go to the midnight release. That way you can be finished reading the book before the others who are waiting for delivery even get it :-)

I'm having it delivered. I'm not big on crowds. I did the midnight thing once before and ended up standing in life forever, and it wasn't all that much fun. I'm going to get my book, sit on my couch, and not move until it's finished.

I went to the last two release parties and they were just wonderful. They have cool HP activities and souvenirs. I did my oldest son's nursery in HP, so those made some nice additions. Plus, it's always nice to meet HP addicts that are more hardcore than yourself lol

Get it dellivered to your house, that way you'll be more comfortable, you wont be half asleep, and you still get to read it.
It you go to the midnight release party you'll be half asleep and won't remember what happened then you'll wake up in the mornng (that is if you sleep at all) you won't remember.

my friend ordered the half-blood prince from Amazon and it didn't come for 2 weeks after he had ordered it. why not just go to a 24 hour shop like Tesco or Asda, no crowds there.

probable the Harry Potter followers because of the fact there are this type of large sort of of them--and 0.5 of that extensive type is youthful adequate to have mothers and fathers scuffling with for them, which doubles their numbers. besides, maximum hardcore anime followers are out of shape because of the fact they spend plenty time sitting on their butts observing the stuff.
