Some people just need attention. I've noticed that a lot of people ask questions that have already been answered. Other people don't want to take the time to do their own research. You can't assume that people paid attention in high school, but you are right, this place is flooded with dumb questions, some of which are probably mine ;)

I ask myself this question a lot. I think the answer is, people are different and think differently. A lot of americans, are so spoiled in today's time. Some americans ask stupid questions, just to show why they want to know something.

For an example, I am 18 years old and I have a medical complication with my throat/voice. I can speak like a normal person, most times. Well there are times, where my voice sounds scratchy. I am seeing a doctor about this problem, and you don't know what type of questions I've got before.
People from 4 years old to 95 year olds have asked me...

What happened to your voice?
What the F*#x happened to your voice?
Why do you talk funny?

I guess people want to know certain things that don't matter to them, and they ask stupid questions to showing it. Asking stupid questions seems to be the way, to know something you want to know. It also depends on, how someone acts, someones personality, and they way someone treats someone else. I don't know how good I am making sense, but in reality people ask stupid questions to get what they want. You can blamw this issue, on why certain people have little or no confidence, in themselves.

and not everybody is as SMART as you are. so just let them be and mind your own business. in the first place, this site was made for asking and answering questions.

and hey, by the way, do you think your question is a good one? or your just trying to get attention?

chill out dude! make friends, do not attract bad vibes...

Vague questions get interesting responses. A lot is left up to our own interpretation, so you get to see how to look at things from many different angles.

You have to sort through questions to find the ones you're interested in. I think we learned this too.

I suspect the questions to which you are referring are coming from high schoolers & grade schoolers looking for homework help.
