Use a virus scanner.
And it's not illegal to download a song. It's illegal to allow others to download from you.
Turn off the File Sharing on anything you download so that other's can't upload it from your computer.

I have Limewire and it works fine. I wouldn't suggest downloading any porno's though(not saying you would). Thats where the viruses usually are(not saying I do). I've had it for about 6 months and have had no problems. I have virus protection on my pc too though. Never can be too safe. You won't go to prison for it either.

The program is legal, but you can't download copyrighted material. That's illegal. It's not very safe either, I've had a good experience with, but I know a lot of people who have had their computers messed up beyond repair by Limewire. It's up to you. I recommend it on a computer that you don't use anymore so if something goes wrong, you'll be ok.

I haven't got viruses from Limewire, so it's safe in my opinion. About being illegal I'm sure it is but I don't think you'll go to jail. They would have to track down all the users.

Of course it is safe. I've been downloading programs, for years and years. 6 GB for month. That means how I trust to limewire. Don't be scared. If there is a virus on a program, there will be a alert. You gonna say no and there won't be any problem.

It's not illegal, if it was, it would be taken care of.
Don't worry about what 'Dr. Phil' said. Trust me, i wouldn't put in all the effort for calming you down if i wasn't telling the truth.
And, yes, it is safe as long as you don't share the songs you download. To do this, just right click on the downloaded song(s) and press on the 'stop sharing' button.
It's fine. Your computer will not get viruses.

No, your computer will not have millions of viruses as long as you watch what you download. But it is illegal to download from there and I don't think you will go to prison but you WILL be fined.

go to prison- depends where you live but I highly doubt it
viruses- you can get those anywhere. i've been using limewire for atleast 7 years and I've gotten maybe 3 viruses from it.
I'm Canadian though so downloading is legal here....
