"Hell has no Wrath like a Woman Scorned." Initially, grief over the death of her son in the Iraq War drove her to action. Sheehan’s wrath was clearly pointed at the republicans and the President, who at the time controlled Congress. The liberal press and the democrats picked up Sheehan’s vitriol and used her as a political pawn. While she was out raising hell, the democrats took control of the Congress. Now, despite their partisan promises, our new democrat-controlled Congress has refunded the War in Iraq and Sheehan is outraged. So, she understandability turned on her base supporters and surprise, surprise she is now “retiring” from protesting the war.

Sheehan learned a valuable lesson: neither party can deliver results. Politicians on both side of the isle will say and do anything to achieve their political goals: to garner money, fame and power. I just hope that Sheehan can repair her family relationships, so she is not along in her exile.

I think she will take time to heal from being a pawn of the left.

Cindy Sheehan had my sympathy - right up until she referred to the Islamic terrorists as "Freedom Fighters" - among other anti-American rhetoric she spewed out.

Her anti-American rants went way beyond anyones sensibilities. Perhaps now she can put her anger behind her and get on with her life.

The press and the democratic party in general should be ashamed of themselves for exploiting this woman's grief and unstable condition for all it was worth.

Who cares, she was an annoying woman. I'm anti-war in Iraq too, but I would cringe every time I heard this woman speak. She is dumb and certainly not the "voice" of the opposition to the war. She actually visited Hugo Chavez and thought he was a good guy. I'm glad she's stepping down because she's too easy a target for lockstep war supporters.

Hopefully, she'll realize that she spent all this time dishonoring her son's memory, making a mockery of the sacrifice he made for all of us, and spend time with the other kids she has that she's been ignoring for the past 2 years
