Impressed enough to have married a beautiful lady whose IQ is well into the top 1% in the world. Impressed enough to have loved living and working in NYC, where I got to know a number of people with the very best minds in the world, in their fields. I have a lot of stories about that I could bore you with ;-)

Both! I am so impressed with intelligence and creativity and often wish that I had been blessed with it. I also feel a little intimidated and worry that I am going to blither like Porkey the Pig or that I will have nothing to offer in conversation. But I have found that intelligent people are also sensitive to the same feelings. I met one of my daughters professors once and aside from listening to my daughter sing her praise I had read her bio. I was so flattered when she asked me to show her how to make the cookies I sent my daughter when she was away in school. I became another of her instant fans.

Depends on the person, and how they use there intellect. I find that some are extremely rude, and try to humiliate people by talking about things that most average people don't have a clue about. But I am certainly impressed by it even if I feel intimidated.

I am impressed. My ex and our daughter, both are exceptional intelligent. One of the first things that catch my attention with a man is his intelligence. I am a Gemini and bore easily.
As for other people, it depends on who they are, their arrogance level, and my involvement with them.
My preference is to be around people that are highly intelligent and can hold conversations on multiple topics. I try and avoid situations with people that talk about the same things daily.
I must add, I seek out people that forgive typo's more then anything else.

exceptional intelligence doesn't impress me. it's the attitude of the person that matters. intimidation happens if we let it ourselves get intimidated.

Neither. No need to be impressed because there's always someone who knows more than you do, and there's no need to be intimidated because they're human just like you are.

I hang out with intelligent people but do not like the arrogant- know-it-all type personality. That kind of person isn't interested in sharing knowledge, only bragging and making them self feel important.

I think we can all have glimmers of exceptional intelligence from time to time and its a welcome thing. The only time I dislike it is if the intelligence is deliberately aimed over the heads of others, thats when it becomes off putting more than intimidating. But I think the majority of people strike a nice user friendly level somewhere on pleasant middle ground where we can all meet.
