I have to go to a smog test only station and I am concerned about my Nox reading as it was tested 2 years ago and barley passed. So, if i were to fail, I want to know which part may most likely be the issue? I would like to have it checked before i get it smogged.

High NOX reading is due to high combustion temperatures. It is due to nitrogen in the air combining with the oxygen. This condition could be caused by a faulty oxygen sensor.

Check ur EGR system to make sure its operating properly and also have ur timing set to specs. These are common areas that can cause a high NOX failure.
