Explain to them the rules apply for their safety. If they are roudy and making a lot of noise you will not be able to hear your surrounding of the other cars and even emergency vehicle and that can lead to a major accident. Get the parents involved.

my bus driver, back in high school, turned the bus around and took us back to school and made the kids who weren't behaving get off. the dean came on the bus got the kids the bus driver said were misbehaving and suspended them from the bus, for like a week or so, and they had to find alternative ways to get home.

STRICT discipline. Its dangerous for all the others if a few are misbehaving. I would give a written warning outlining that there is only one warning before being kicked off.

I am sure if you look online you can find articles about accidents being caused because of disruptive children on school buses....maybe they need to watch some of the video's out there....

I could never do what you do Cindi, I would kill them!

First, make sure you know their names & use them when they get rowdy. Second, if possible, get a security camera installed on the Bus. Find a method of issueing "warnings" about unacceptable behavior, making sure parents are aware of these warnings, then follow up by suspending bus privledges for 2 or 3 days when the warnings are not heeded.
Assign seats if necessary to separate trouble makers.
Chuckle... this is one of the hardest questions I've had to answer, but I've had to address this at our school. Parents resent having to take their children to & from school during times of suspension, but sometimes that is the only way to get their co-operation.

Just kiddin, but what used to happen when my dad was goin to school on the mainland was if a kid was bein a jerk, he got booted off the bus right then and there and hadda walk the rest of the way. AND he got counted tardy if he was late too...and then probly got spanked too.

Can the authorities at the school do anything to them? Can you get them banned from riding the bus?
Too bad you can't rap them on the knuckles with a ruler; that's how our bus driver maintained order when I was in elementary school. It worked VERY well.

I really dont know to be honest, its a tough one. if you speak up and tell them to behave, they ge worse out of spite, but if you dont do anything, they will keep doing what they are doing. sorry i realised i hve not helped in the slightest by telling you what u alreay know, but now i've typed it out, im no gonna delete it.

Rest a shotgun next to the driver's seat, and rub it when the kids start getting loud. That ought to keep them in line, lol.

Get them kicked off the bus. If they are disruptive, you have that right.

I find that waiving a razor sharp hunting knife in their face with a malevolent grin tends to work.
