sounds like a loose or worn belt. old timers trick is to put some talc powder on the belts close the hood and drive it if this works have your belt inspected and tightened or replaced. if you have serpentine belts (flat with 3-6 ridges) look for cracks across the face of the belt. if you have a v belt look for glazing which is shinny appearance on the sides.

good luck

Does it squeal only when you give it the gas? It may just be a belt making noise, you may need to replace them. Try buying a product from a parts store (autozone) that stops belt squeal, it may fix your problem, but maybe short term fix. So you might need to replace them anyway. Look at the (bottom) side of the belt'(s) for cracks, more than three within a 2in. margin shows your belts are worn and need be replaced.
