Troubleshooting memory is by process of elimination unless you've got a specialized RAM tester (hardware that most folks don't own)

So I'f you've got 1GB installed as 2 chips of 512mb each, you remove one chip and try running the game again. If the problem persists, switch them. If you find the problem has gone away, the congratulations- you've removed the bad RAM module.

Also, go the BIOS setup right after a crash and check the system temperature- it's possible the system is overheating?

Of course before you start changing any hardware follow the other suggestions- do complete virus and spyware scans, delete any extra startup programs that might be using system memory, etc.

go to start, setting, control panel, system and find out how much ram you really do have. If you have enough ram for the game requirements, I would go to the msconfig and shut down all applications from loading when you start your computer. That way you won't have anything running in the background that could be taking up your ram while you play your games. Good luck!

If your game is shutting off during game play, it is normally due to your computer not meeting the requirements for the game. So since it says it is because of RAM, I would say your computer is low on memory.

Well if your game tells you that you got to have more RAM to play that game, you either pay a bit to get more RAM or you won't play that game.
