Yes. Rabbits of all varieties share the same basic DNA, so a lop and a lionhead can breed.

The gestation period for rabbits is very short, so you'll know in a few weeks. She'll start pulling her chest hair to make a nest.

Yes, different breeds can have babies which are a mix of both parents or share the same traits as the mum or dad. I cannot understand why people keep wanting to breed while there are over 30,000 rabbits dumped in rescues, not to mention the ones sold for meat or live hawk food. The rescue near me has just rescued over 60+ pregnant rabbits that had been living in 1 foot hutches. I do not mean to say in any way that this is you or your way of living but I am angry at breeders. Please, after she has given birth consider getting her neutered to prevent uterine cancer and then perhaps get her a rescued neutered male so she has company again. Sorry but just to make sure you know that this is not a rant against you. I know that if I asked a question about these people I would get horrid and nasty answers. Give your lovely french lop a big hug.

Hi there. She might well be pregnant. Or she could be ill. I suggest you take her to the vets as soon as possible - just to make sure :). If you are still worried, buy a rabbit-encyclopedia and take a look in there as to why rabbits pull out their fur! Hope I helped you out - good luck :)

Chances are they've had a ROLL in the hay and there will be a BUN in the oven now! (Sorry, couldn't resist it - but bad luck on losing your pet).
