Lets see what Jimmy has done,

2. Camp David Accords
3. Founded FEMA
4. Panama Canal transferred to Panama
5. SALT II treaty
6. When Jimmy Carter was President He wanted to reduce oil use and even put solar panels on top of the White House. Ronald Reagan had them taken down.

But here is the dandy about FEMA.

Jimmy Carter’s Town Hall meeting

4 p.m. , September 19, 2005
Bender Arena

Q : Grade the last 2 elections that brought the administrations to power. And grade FEMA.

A : Well, I would say that in the year 2000 the country failed abysmally in the presidential election process. There’s no doubt in my mind that Al Gore was elected president. He received the most votes nationwide and in my opinion he also received the most votes in Florida. And the decision was made, as you know, by a 5-4 vote on a highly partisan basis by the US Supreme Court. I would say in 2000 there was a failure. The year 2004 is hard to grade. I don’t have any detailed information about what actually went on in Ohio. If Ohio had gone one way or the other it would have changed the outcome of the election. And the only thing that I know about Ohio was that there’s general consensus, that the secretary of state of Ohio, who was responsible for the administration of elections was highly partisan in his public approach and perhaps even in his private administration but I don’t know about that.

As far as FEMA’s concerned, I founded FEMA in 1979 as a direct response from a petition given to me by the national governors’ conference. Because at that time there were 16 different federal agencies that dealt with disasters like Katrina and we put it together with 3 specific commitments that I hoped at that time were permanent. One was that it would be headed by highly qualified professionals in dealing with disaster. Secondly, that they would be completely independent and not under another agency that would submerge it, secondarily. And third that it would be adequately funded. Well, I thought that that’d be a permanent commitment. But, as you know, all three of those provisions have been violated in recent years and obviously there were deep problems at the local and the state level and at the federal level so I think now is the best time not to look at blaming about Katrina, but to try to correct the defects that have evolved in recent years and make sure it’s not repeated.

It was Bush that violated all three....
It was Bush that wanted the Patriot Act...
It was Bush that pushed to take away our Habeas Corpus rights. Our democratic Congress is about to get that back right now.

I could go on about the war too, but it is going to be us Democrats that fix all of this mess.

7. After he was President he Founded Habitat for Humanity

Oh Bush is much worse.

There are days when I just can't decide who was the worst president in my lifetime.

Some days, I am sure Jimmy Carter was the worst in my life time. He lead us in those dark days following Vietnam, and he did nothing to restore America's military prestige, and he projected an image of weakness and indecisiveness. He cut military budgets, for which I can thank my civilian status.

Other days, I think slickwillie was the worst president in my lifetime. He made a mockery of his office, and he pissed away American strength and prestige by failing to make a strong response to attacks on Americans and American military and diplomatic property.

Still other days, I consider LBJ to have been the worst of all times. His "Great Society" ruined American society and sped the downhill slide that we've bemoaned for the last 40 years. And he fed hundreds of thousands of American GI's into a Vietnamese meatgrinder with rules of engagement that gave us no chance of winning.

Compared to those three, GW Bush is not so bad. At least he strikes me as being a personally honorable man. But he is no Ronald Regan!

Your current President is worse. He has the power to dictate & that is never a good thing the last major dictator created WW2. President Bush dictated to Blair on the subject of going to war in Iraq. Blair backed him up & since Bush dictating about the war many soilders lives have been lost in an unnessary war.
