Okay,so i found a shark tooth on the beach today. It's a pretty good size! I also have a friend who is a diver and found a pretty massive tooth near a ship wreck. I am just wondering if anyone can tell right off what kind of shark they might be from,Or if they are worth anything? They look completly different so im very curious to maybe get a history behind them! Any info is helpfull! Thanks! :-)

In this day and age there really is no money in shark teeth (unless you find something extremely rare). The problem is that they are a dime a dozen due to how often shark drop them and how well they revolve into fossiles.

As far as the photo goes those will not be worth anything, other than personal vaule since you found them and I am sure they mean something to you.

To what they are my best guess (do not know where you found them).... I would say the top is from a megalodon which you could get a buck or two from, the bottom is throwing me off a bit but I would gather it is the same as well. I am much better with shark teeth when I can see them in my hand. That you would be lucky to get a dollar for.

The top tooth could have been from a small megaladon or perhaps a large great white. The bottom one is fossilized - probably great white or other Carcharioid species (different species in same family).

Probably won't be worth much of anything as far as $. What part of the world were these found - that will also give clues as to what species of shark it could've been.

The large one is a fossil tooth from one of the large, extinct species. Why is the smaller one black? Send the pics to an ichthyologist at a museum or university near you.
